Examples

It doesn’t matter if your data is qualitative or quantitative, public or private – Metal handles it all.

  • Spreadsheets (CSV, XLSX): Such as financial statements, P&L statements, and financial models
  • Documents (DOCX, TXT): Investor memos, call transcripts, and purchase agreements
  • PDFs: Board decks, confidential information memorandums (CIMs), industry reports, and SEC filings like 10-Ks/10-Qs

If you have questions about a private dataset and Metal’s security, please reach out. We have several deployment options available.

Uploading Your Data

To upload data into Metal, follow these simple steps:

1. Create a Datasource: This is your first step to organizing your documents in Metal. Think of it as an AI-enabled folder for financial documents.

2. Enable Auto Summarization (Optional): Metal can automatically summarize each document, regardless of it being qualitative or quantitative, saving you time and letting you focus on more important tasks.

3. Define Metadata for Extraction (Optional): Instruct Metal to extract specific values like financial metrics or speakers from call transcripts – giving structure to your unstructured data.

4. Upload Your Documents: Once your datasource is set up, simply upload your documents to have Metal go to work.
